Fiber Optic Installation
Fiber Optic Installation in Pendleton, Hermiston & Eastern Oregon
When copper cable can’t go the distance, fiber can. Total Security installs and splices fiber optic cable underground and overhead, connecting buildings, shops, cameras, and networks across distances that would stop a standard network cable.
Our Fiber Services
Underground Fiber Runs
Trenched and buried fiber between buildings, out to shops and gates, or across a property, protected from weather and equipment traffic.
Aerial Fiber Runs
Pole-to-pole fiber where trenching isn’t practical, built to handle Eastern Oregon wind, heat, and winter weather.
Fusion Splicing & Termination
Low-loss fusion splices and clean terminations for new runs, repairs, and extensions to existing fiber.
Common Fiber Projects
- Building-to-building links that put multiple buildings on one fast, reliable network.
- Farm shops and outbuildings connected back to the office, so they get the same internet, Wi-Fi, and cameras. See our IT services for farms and ag operations.
- Long camera and security runs to gates, yards, and perimeters too far for standard cable. See our alarm and camera systems.
- Backbone cabling inside larger buildings linking network closets across floors or long facilities.
Why Fiber Instead of Copper?
Standard network cable is limited to about 100 meters (328 feet). Fiber carries data much farther, isn’t affected by electrical interference from motors and equipment, and doesn’t conduct lightning surges between buildings. For outbuildings, shops, and long camera runs, that means a faster, more reliable connection that holds up for years.
Subcontract Fiber Work for Contractors & ISPs
General contractors, electricians, and internet providers working in Umatilla County can bring us in for fiber installation, splicing, and termination. We’re a local crew that knows the area, shows up on schedule, and leaves clean, documented work. Contact us to discuss your project or set up an ongoing subcontract relationship.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need fiber, or will regular network cable work?
If the run is under about 300 feet and stays inside one building, standard cable usually works. For longer runs or connections between buildings, fiber is typically the better choice. We’ll recommend the right option for your site.
Underground or aerial?
It depends on distance, terrain, existing poles, and what’s in the way. We’ll look at your property and recommend the most practical and durable route.
Can you repair or extend existing fiber?
Yes. We fusion splice damaged or cut fiber and extend existing runs to new buildings or equipment.
Do you handle the network equipment on each end?
Yes. Along with the fiber, we install and configure the switches, Wi-Fi, and cameras it connects, and we can keep it monitored with a managed IT plan.
